What my Child Taught me About Patience

One morning, I was in a rush to get to work while my 8-year-old slowly tried to tie her shoelaces.

I felt frustration rising as the clock ticked louder in my head.

Then she looked up at me and said, “I want to do it myself.” That sentence stopped me cold, because I realized patience isn’t just about waiting — it’s about giving space for growth.

That morning taught me that sometimes the best thing we can do is step back and let others try, even if it takes longer.
